Aluminum Brazing Sheet Coil For Heat Exchangers

2026-03-25

As a technical staff member at Haomei Aluminum responsible for aluminum brazing sheet coil for heat exchangers, I have combined years of experience in production, commissioning, and export delivery to break down the technical details and application logic of this core material in heat exchange systems, starting from the product itself.

Aluminum brazing sheet coil for heat exchangers are a special composite sheet material manufactured through a hot-rolled metallurgical composite process. Its core positioning is to address the core needs of heat exchange equipment: "high-efficiency heat exchange, robust connection, lightweight, and corrosion resistance." Unlike ordinary aluminum sheets, its core advantage lies in the precisely matched composite structure of the core material and the brazing layer. It can be directly adapted to subsequent automated brazing processing without additional pretreatment. It is a key basic material for achieving equipment miniaturization and energy saving in modern automotive, HVAC, and industrial heat exchange fields, and is also one of Haomei's core flagship products exported to overseas markets.

We use a hot-rolled metallurgical composite process to achieve a strong bond between the core material and the brazing layer, eliminating the risk of delamination and incomplete welding, and ensuring that the joint strength and airtightness meet standards after subsequent brazing processing.
The core alloy is primarily 3003/3105, a series that combines good plasticity and thermal conductivity, making it suitable for complex processing techniques such as stamping and bending, while also meeting the heat conduction requirements during heat exchange.
The brazing layer uses 4343/4045 alloy, with precise control of the silicon content at 6%-8%, lowering its melting point to 577-590℃, far below the core material's 650℃ melting point. This ensures that the core material's performance is not affected during low-temperature brazing, allowing the brazing filler metal to spread evenly and form a dense joint.

To meet diverse operating conditions, we have designed three mainstream composite structures:
Single-sided composite (4343/3003), suitable for conventional heat exchange scenarios such as ordinary condensers and evaporators;
Double-sided composite (4343/3003/4343), meeting the stringent requirements of double-sided heat exchange and high-strength connections;
Corrosion-resistant enhanced type (4343/3003/7072), with a newly added 7072 anti-corrosion layer, specifically designed to cope with harsh environments such as marine and high-humidity conditions, significantly improving the product's corrosion resistance.

Combining global customer processing needs with our own production capabilities, our aluminum brazing sheet coil strip cover all application scenarios and support flexible customization:
Thickness standard range is 0.2-3.0mm, and can be customized to ultra-thin specifications of 0.1mm or thick plates of 5.0mm according to specific customer processing requirements;
Width is generally supplied from 100-2000mm, and relying on our own wide-width production line, we can achieve ultra-wide coil supply up to 3300mm;
Length can be cut on demand according to customer processing equipment and production volume, supporting both whole-roll supply and precision cutting services to reduce subsequent processing losses.
The composite layer ratio is generally controlled between 5%-15%, and can be precisely adjusted according to customer requirements for brazing strength and heat exchange efficiency;
Surface quality is mainly provided in H18/H24 temper, which meets the requirements of conventional stamping processing, and can also provide customized surface treatments such as mirror finish and frosted finish according to specific customer needs, adapting to the appearance and processing requirements of different equipment.

Haomei leverages its 3300mm "1+1" and self-developed (1+4) hot-rolling production lines to achieve millimeter-level thickness tolerance control, with coil flatness ≤0.1mm/m. This ensures perfect compatibility with customers' automated stamping and bending equipment, reducing scrap rates during processing. Each coil undergoes ultrasonic testing to check the composite bonding rate, ensuring ≥98% bonding rate, eliminating delamination risks at the source and guaranteeing long-term stable product operation. For exports, drawing on years of maritime shipping experience, we employ moisture-proof and rust-proof double-layer packaging, including vacuum bags and desiccants, effectively resisting the moisture and salt spray corrosion of long-distance sea transport (over 45 days). We also provide international authoritative certification documents such as ISO9001, SGS, and FDA, fully meeting the market access requirements of North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. For bulk export orders, we optimize production scheduling processes, achieving rapid delivery within 7-15 days, along with one-stop customs clearance and logistics services, eliminating customers' concerns about post-export operations.

The core characteristics of aluminum brazing sheet coils are designed around the needs of heat exchange systems, precisely addressing industry pain points:
First, high-efficiency thermal conductivity:
≥180W/(m·K), improving heat exchange efficiency by 15%-20% compared to traditional heat exchange materials, effectively reducing equipment energy consumption.
Second, stable brazing properties:
The brazing filler metal spreads evenly, resulting in no defects such as porosity or cracks after welding. Joint strength is ≥180MPa, and airtightness reaches 10⁻⁹ Pa·m³/s, meeting the requirements of high-pressure heat exchange scenarios.
Third, significant lightweight advantages:
Density is only 2.7g/cm³, 60% lighter than copper, contributing to a weight reduction of over 30% in heat exchange equipment, especially suitable for fields with stringent requirements for weight reduction and energy saving, such as automotive and new energy industries.
Fourth, strong corrosion resistance:
The combination of 3003 core material and 4343 layer has been tested and can withstand salt spray tests for over 1000 hours, adapting to harsh working conditions such as marine and chemical environments, extending equipment lifespan.

With stable product performance and flexible specification customization capabilities, our aluminum brazing sheet coils are widely used in the field of total heat exchange:
In the automotive heat exchange sector, they are compatible with radiators, condensers, intercoolers, and battery cooling plates for new energy vehicles, contributing to vehicle lightweighting and energy conservation;
In the HVAC sector, they are used in evaporators and condensers for residential and commercial air conditioners, as well as heat exchange cores for heat pump water heaters, improving heat exchange efficiency and equipment stability;
In the industrial heat exchange sector, they are compatible with chemical heat exchangers, waste heat recovery devices, and marine cooling systems, addressing complex industrial conditions;
In the refrigeration equipment sector, they are used in evaporators for refrigerators, freezers, and cold storage, as well as heat exchange components for cold chain transportation, ensuring cooling performance and equipment durability.

As Haomei's technical staff, we always focus on "precisely matching customer processes and ensuring stable product performance." From alloy formula customization to hot rolling process optimization, from export packaging to after-sales technical support, we are committed to making every aluminum brazing sheet coil a reliable foundation for the efficient operation of our customers' heat exchange systems.
